Life Goals

We all go through seasons in our lives.  Our formative years, our adolescence, our teenage years, college/career age years, our working years, and eventually, God willing, our retirement years.  During these times we never stop learning or growing.  We are constantly on a path, one set before us by God before the foundations of the world.

My own path has has been one of servitude and support.  I began my career as a technical worker designing computer hardware and software.  However, after just a few short years I transitioned into an advisory role.  And from there I spent the vast majority of my career as an advisor to leadership on the technical health and direction of the workforce.  And while I was considered part of the leadership team, very little of that time was spent in the direct management of others in the workforce.  Myself and other Technical Directors across the workforce became the driving force of the technologies used and the requirements adhered to in order to meet the goals and services of the industries we served.

Over the course of my career I have had to develop a skill for absorbing vast amounts of technical information, understanding that information, and then correctly applying that information to problems within the world in order to effect solutions to problems and good outcomes for the success of all.  And I had to develop the ability to distill that information and solution space down to its simplest forms in order to present to senior leadership the necessary points in order to allow correct decisions to be made.  When briefing a 4 star Flag Officer (O-10), the briefings had to be concise, complete, and coherent.  There was very little room for “rabbit chasing” or the interjection of personal opinion, unless directly asked for it.

Our Spiritual lives are no different.  We need to be able to understand Holy Scriptures and how they apply to our lives today in order to be able to discern God’s will for our lives.  And just like Governments and Corporations need technical advisors to distill and interpret information in order to meet goals, we all need pastors and teachers of God’s word in our lives in order to illuminate the treasures of the Bible and how we may apply them in order to meet our own life goals.

Given my career path, it should come as no surprise that given any majorly accepted Spiritual Gifts Test (such as Trentons) I consistently score highest in the pastor/teacher gifts.  Those gifts that the Apostle Paul enumerated as give to some for the edification (education) of the saints.

And now, in my retirement years, I believe God has called me to utilize those gifts through writing.  Teaching God’s word through literary works.  It is my desire to be able to reach others through written text.

If you find my books useful in your own life, would you please consider sharing them with a neighbor, coworker, or friend?  I’d like to meet a goal of writing more of these works in retirement.  And your support of purchasing just one book and then telling others around you about it will help fund future projects.

And if you have been inspired or challenged in any way by my writing, I’d love to hear from you.  Please feel free to reach out to me through this site.  Thank you for reading.

God Bless!
